Gaining Employer Support
Preparing to talk with your employer
Request multiple copies of the MEPP information packet - one for you and one for each manager who is involved in approving support for your studies.
Meeting with your employer
- Together, view the "Managers Talk with Managers" clip on the DVD. Your manager will hear directly from other managers why they have chosen to support students' MEPP studies with corporate funds.
- Key points to discuss with your employer:
- Review the course descriptions in the course bulletin. Discuss how each course applies to your current and future responsibilities.
- Note that your participation in MEPP will not interrupt your work schedule or your ability to travel.
- Note that top engineering employers have reviewed MEPP and have chosen to support their employees' enrollment in the program.
- Note that MEPP's quality is underscored by the top national and international awards the program has received.
- Discuss how MEPP's courses emphasize immediate application of what you are learning. Employers are able to immediately see and benefit from your progress as you apply tools, concepts, and strategies to your workplace projects and responsibilities.
- MEPP's proven record provides high assurance that your employer's investment will result in a completed degree in two years, benefiting everyone.
- Suggest your employer review the MEPP Resources for Employers Web pages.
